Max was born to Matthew Fosh, a former cricketer and rugby union player, and Helena Wilhelmina van der Kun. He has an older sister, Talitha. Max attended Arnold House School in Westminster before progressing to Harrow School, a prestigious independent boarding school in London. In 2014, he enrolled at Newcastle University, initially studying economics and finance.
